ESG Bio
True/False Film Fest is thrilled to announce a historic musical event: the iconic band ESG (Emerald, Sapphire and Gold) will perform in Missouri for the first time since their formation by the Scroggins Sisters in 1978 while in their final year as a band on Friday, March 6, 2026 at The Blue Note Dance Party.
ESG has been influential in a wide range of musical genres, including hip hop, post punk, disco, funk and electronic music. Their unique rhythm-first approach created a new sonic blueprint, providing inspiration for generations of artists across genres, and their track “UFO” famously became one of the most sampled songs in history by countless icons such as MF Doom, The Beastie Boys, The Notorious B.I.G., Nine Inch Nails, J Dilla, TLC, and LL Cool J, among many others.
This is a can’t-miss event for any fan of music history.
The Blue Note Dance Party will also feature performances by Soumir, named St. Louis Magazine’s best new music artist of 2025, and Chicago-Asheville DJ duo Peace Lily.
