Technical Coordinator / Manager

Frank Productions is looking for a full-time Technical Coordinator or Manager to join our team in Columbia, MO. This role would be the primary Technical resource for The Blue Note and Rose Music Hall.

Located in Madison, WI, Frank Productions was established in 1964 and is one of the largest concert promotion companies in the United States. We’re a full-service concert promotion company involved in every facet of live entertainment events. This includes talent buying, production, ticketing, marketing, sponsorships, venue operations and more.  We produce and promote events in arenas, performing arts centers, theaters, clubs and other venues across the U.S. We operate offices and venues in Madison, WI, Nashville, TN, and Columbia, MO.


  • Act as lead tech for all shows and events at assigned venues

  • Manage tech advances for area venues

  • Manage the sound, light, and video equipment for successful shows at operated venues

  • Collaborate and work closely with other Venue Operations team members to ensure seamless communication and cooperation

  • Adhere to the show’s budget and track all expenses

  • Solve production issues that may arise at any point in a show’s timeline

  • Oversee the load-in and load-out of the show from artists, vendors, and others involved

  • Maintain relationships with artists, tour crews, artist management, and other personnel to ensure proper communication and successful shows

  • Close out shows and submit all pertinent information

  • Assist with acquiring the proper equipment and systems at operated venues in order to meet show objectives and budget

  • A/V maintenance for venues as needed

  • Complete appropriate reports related to show and event operations

  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise techs for all area venues as needed

  • Act as point person with providers for technical questions and needs

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all sound, lighting and video systems in all area venues

  • All other duties as assigned


  • Applicable experience with tech and sound

  • Ability to direct a team with leadership qualities that exemplify respect, integrity, teamwork and quality

  • Willingness to travel and cover shows outside of assigned venue, as job duties demand

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office

  • Professional and friendly demeanor

  • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to solve problems using sound decision-making skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt and be flexible

This position is expected to work forty (40) hours per week or more. This position is an at-will position, meaning that either party may terminate the employment relationship at any time without notice or cause. The initial salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s experience.
