TONIGHT AT THE NOTE:
Girls - $12
with Magic Kids and The Smith Westerns

Doors @ 8:00pm

San Francisco's Girls blasted into the blogosphere earlier this year with the well received release of their debut record Album. Since the release, the band's music (a straightforward yet jangly blend of garage pop and shoegaze) has succeeded in overshadowing the infamous background and indie lore surrounding them: front man and chief songwriter Christopher Owens' childhood in the Children of God cult, the story that the band wrote and recorded their entire debut under the influence of a myriad of various pills, and the release of the X-rated version of the video for their single Lust for Life.

TOMORROW AT THE NOTE:
100.1 The Buzz Presents Bandamonium Battle of the Bands - $3
with FDR's Revenge, Sunday But Summer, Eli the Iceman, Warantula, and Lunar Mansion

Doors @ 7:30pm

100.1 The Buzz brings you the most intense Battle of the Bands this town has ever seen: Bandamonium. The winner of each prelim moves on to the finals in March and a chance to take home a cool $2,000. So make sure to come out and support your favorite local/regional rockers. To submit your band, visit www.buzz.fm

February 10 AT THE NOTE:
Lucero - $15
with Glossary

Doors @ 7:30pm

Playing between 150-200 live shows a year, Lucero has come to be known as much for their hard-touring work ethic as for their critically acclaimed records that capture the raw country/rock/punk music the band is known for. In addition to his work with the band, lead singer Ben Nichols also released a solo record in early 2009 and co-stars in MTV’s $5 Cover, a series about the Memphis music scene.
